The project will pave the way for a more widespread use of remote court hearings. It will allow for timely case processing, helping improve the length of judicial proceedings for both the prisoners and other stakeholders, while increasing security, as in the case of the risk of transporting prisoners to hearings, and the efficiency of these proceedings. This will allow for a more effective exercise of the right to a trial of persons in detention, ensuring the timeliness of case processing. As a result, it will help reduce the backlog of court cases and improve the services provided by the judicial authorities. In addition, the purchased equipment will enable smooth functioning of the judicial system even in emergency situations such as pandemics, which is essential for the continuity of judicial proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project Purchase of audio-visual equipment for the Prison Administration of the Republic of Slovenia will be carried out in the scope of Slovenia\u2019s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under priority Digital connectivity.
