Ljubljana, 19 May 2025 \u2013 The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Integrated Territorial Investment project of the Urban Municipality of Ljubljana (ITI Urban Municipality LJ Linhartova) and the Integrated Territorial Investment project of the Urban Municipality of Slovenj Gradec \u2013 city centre (ITI Urban Municipality SG city centre). \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As part of the EU-funded ITI Urban Municipality LJ Linhartova project, the Urban Municipality of Ljubljana will reconstruct all the areas meant for cyclists and pedestrians by reconstructing cycle paths and pavements along the entire Linhartova cesta road. After the reconstruction, the road will be wider as the traffic profile will be changed to a four-lane road with yellow lanes for public passenger transport. Four intersections (the Dunajska, \u017delezna, Neubergerjeva and Topni\u0161ka cesta roads) and a new intersection with the Valjhunova ulica street with a pedestrian and cyclist crossing will be reconstructed. The project will provide more spacious and safer areas for the most vulnerable road users, i.e. pedestrians and cyclists, and improve conditions for people with disabilities. Urban Municipality of Ljubljana has already started work in the second half of 2023, and work is expected to be completed later this year. The European Regional Development Fund contribution stands at 2,236,225 euros for the project worth 6,959,139.42 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the EU-funded ITI Urban Municipality SG city centre project, the Urban Municipality of Slovenj Gradec will revitalise the city centre of Slovenj Gradec by redeveloping the city\u2019s open public spaces. The project includes a comprehensive redesign of streets and roads in line with the principles of sustainable mobility, and focuses also on pedestrian infrastructure, digitisation to promote sustainable mobility and activities in the field of alternative fuels. The project, worth 6,995,626.88 euros, will receive a contribution from the European Regional Development Fund in the amount of 3,887,722.44 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both abovementioned projects are implemented under Slovenia\u2019s EU Cohesion Policy 2021-2027, priority Sustainable mobility and pursue specific objective Sustainable urban mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
