The project will address key environmental and conservation challenges facing these areas because of changed hydromorphological conditions, abandonment of traditional river uses, proliferation of invasive species, and habitat discontinuity. It will thus contribute to sustainable resource management, improvement in the conservation status of qualifying species and habitat types, connectivity conservation, and long-term resilience of ecosystems in the basins of the Drava and Mura Rivers. EU funding will thus help protect nature and support conservation of the habitats along the Drava and Mura Rivers for next generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project Restoration of river and riparian habitats along the Mura and Drava Rivers will be implemented as part of Slovenia\u2019s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Green transformation for climate neutrality.
