Ljubljana, 1 December 2025 \u2013 The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved financial contribution from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) for the project Integrated approach to safety and health at work. The project aims to establish an integrated approach to safety and health at work and improve the culture of safety and health at work in Slovenia. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The National Institute of Public Health, i.e. the beneficiary, will implement this EU-funded project that will focus on hazard identification, risk assessment, education, and capacity building aimed at enhancing skills, knowledge, and resources of medical professionals and employers. In addition, it will promote health and safety awareness among social partners and the general public. To build lasting awareness, institutional arrangements for occupational health and safety need to be put in place. This calls for designing baselines for the development of four pillars of the system: appropriate legislation, relevant institutions and staff, and protection and control, which includes the digital monitoring system for collecting and analysing occupational health and safety data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will be implemented as part of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Skills and a responsive labour market. It will pursue specific objective Promoting the adaptation of workers, enterprises and entrepreneurs to change, active and healthy ageing and a healthy and well-adapted working environment that addresses health risks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project costs are estimated at 7 million euros.
