The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for a project supporting the development of cycling infrastructure between Bakovci and Dokle\u017eovje. The project will receive over \u20ac791,000 from the European Regional Development Fund. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project aims to advance sustainable mobility in the Urban Municipality of Murska Sobota by providing a safe and convenient cycling connection between the suburban settlement of Bakovci and the neighbouring settlement of Dokle\u017eovje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will therefore strengthen connectivity between the urban centre and its hinterland, encouraging a modal shift from private cars to more environment-friendly modes of transport. It will also contribute to improved air quality and quality of life for local residents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the project, a section of the Sobo\u0161ka ulica road, including carriageway, sidewalks and cycling infrastructure will be reconstructed to accommodate the development of a new cycling connection. The project will include a 2.2-kilometre one-sided, two-way cycle track along the local road connecting Dokle\u017eovje and Bakovci. The infrastructure will also feature a grade-separated cycle crossing over the Lendava-Mura flood bypass channel, street furniture, a bike counter and public lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u20ac1,402,134.40 project will be implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and will receive \u20ac791,841.08 from the European Regional Development Fund. The beneficiary of the funding will be the Urban Municipality of Murska Sobota. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
