Ljubljana, 5 May 2023 – Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has issued the first funding decision under Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. The Ministry approved a total of 13 million euros for the Project Learning for Young Adults (PUM-O+), a programme implemented by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. The first funds under the new programme will thus target young people aged between 15 and 29.
Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development Dr. Aleksander Jevšek said on this occasion:”This proves that we are well prepared for the implementation of the new financial perspective.” In fact, the first funding decision signals the launch of Slovenia’s Cohesion policy Programme 2021-2027.
As part of the PUM-O+ project, the Employment Service of Slovenia will join forces with external service providers to empower young people between 15 and 29 not in employment, education or training (NEET) or young people at risk of becoming early school leavers. PUM-O+ is a free tailor-made training programme designed to empower young people by encouraging them to continue with their education and training and helping them enter the labour market. The programme will reach out to at least 1,800 young people across Slovenia to help improve their employability and social integration while promoting equal opportunities. The first funds that have been approved under the new 2021-2027 programming period thus target young people with the aim of making their future brighter and financially more secure.
The project is worth a total of 13 million euros. The contribution of the European Social Fund Plus to the project amounts to 8,417,500 euros.
