The project aims to establish a comprehensive rehabilitation model for individuals who have dealt with addiction problems within the prison system. The goal is to offer imprisoned individuals a structured and long-term effective process of psychosocial change, the direct result of which is reduced recidivism (repeating offences) and their successful reintegration into society.

The main activities are:

  • setting up therapeutic communities in closed facilities,
  • advanced programmes in open facilities,
  • expansion of support for individuals after their release from prison,
  • rehabilitation at the Ljubljana (Dobrunje) prison.

The total amount of EU funding for the project, which is worth €3,385,000.00, stands at €2,418,294.78. Ministry of Justice, namely the Prison Administration of the Republic of Slovenia, is the beneficiary. The project is implemented in the framework of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme under the specific objective that supports social inclusion of the most vulnerable groups. The eligibility period runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 November 2029.
