EU funding for business support services in the Savinjska valley

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Call for proposals to ensure comprehensive support services for current and future entrepreneurs and businesses in the Savinjska region through a network of support institutions from 2026 to 2029. The European Regional Development Fund will contribute €1.37 million in EU funding.

The aim of the call for proposals is to ensure the provision of a comprehensive business support environment in the Savinjska statistical region. Through this call, free support services will be made available to prospective entrepreneurs and businesses. Funding will be provided to selected support institutions for the delivery of services and activities through regional business support environment consisting of SPOTs – Slovenia Business Points and incubators.

The services will contribute to:

  • unlocking entrepreneurial potential through ecosystem support,
  • accelerating business creation, including creation of social enterprises,
  • improving the start-up survival rate, and
  • overcoming entrepreneurial challenges and barriers.

The call will be carried out under priority Innovative knowledge-based society, which is part of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. It will support the achievement of specific objective Enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs and job creation in SMEs, including by productive investments.

It will make a total of €1,617,187.50 available, of which €1,374,609.37 will come from the European Regional Development Fund.
