Ljubljana, 17 June 2026 – The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Advanced Mobile Imaging System for Realtime Diagnostics and Planning. The European Regional Development Fund contribution stands at €6.58 million.
The project involves developing a software solution for planning radiation therapy based on medical images. The solution will enable healthcare institutions to organise their work more efficiently and reduce the time from diagnosis to the start of treatment. The platform will be entirely software-based, hosted in the cloud, and accessible via a standard laptop and an internet connection.
The goal of the project is to enable advanced medical image processing and radiation therapy planning, even in remote and less accessible areas with inadequate infrastructure and limited highly qualified staff. The project will contribute to greater access to modern cancer treatment technologies and improve conditions for higher-quality and faster patient care.
The project is being implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027 and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
For the project, with a total value of €9,354,563.55, the European Regional Development Fund will contribute €6,580,000 in EU funding. The beneficiary of the funds is COSYLAB, Laboratory for Control Systems, d. d.
