EU funding for the expansion of green infrastructure at the Rogaška Slatina cemetery

Ljubljana, 3 July 2026 – The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Rogaška Slatina Cemetery project. The European Regional Development Fund contribution stands at just over €646 thousand.

The Sveta Trojica Cemetery in Rogaška Slatina will be expanded with a special focus on establishing new green infrastructure and high-quality landscaping of the public space. The project includes expanding the cemetery with landscaping, additional planting in the existing parking lots, and the development of a park-like area intended for both cemetery visitors and residents.

A pleasant, publicly accessible green space will be developed, which will contribute to a higher quality of life and complement the green infrastructure of the town of Rogaška Slatina. The project will create and improve 8,886.70 square meters of outdoor space.

The project is implemented under Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027 and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

The project, with a total value of €996,485.50, will receive EU funding from the European Regional Development Fund worth €646,135.80. The beneficiary of the funds is the Municipality of Rogaška Slatina.
