EU funding for greater inclusion of older workers and retirees

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for a project aimed at providing support and advice services before and after retirement, with a focus on extending the working life of older workers and encouraging the reactivation of older people. The project will receive nearly €4 million from the European Social Fund.

The project will establish a comprehensive system of information and guidance, complemented by education and training activities. The system will encourage older workers to remain longer in employment, facilitating a gradual transition into retirement. This will help mobilise available labour potential, extend the productive working lives of people aged between 50 and 64, and strengthen the social inclusion of older workers and retirees.

The €4.5 million project will be implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. It will receive €3,825,000 from the European Social Fund. The beneficiary of the funding is the Employment Service of Slovenia.
