The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Occupational safety and health – our shared responsibility. The project will receive just over €2.1 million from the European Social Fund Plus.
The project aims to improve occupational safety and health in Slovenia. The project will achieve its objectives by developing guidelines in occupational safety and health, training experts, adopting best practices from other countries, and raising public awareness of the importance of safe and healthy work. Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening the culture of occupational safety and health, promoting healthy and active ageing, and creating conditions that enable people to remain healthy and economically active even in their later years.
The key project results will include the development of a National Strategy for Occupational Safety and Health, which will set out guidelines and measures to establish safe, healthy and supportive work environments.
The planned activities will raise awareness of the importance of safe and healthy working conditions, strengthen the knowledge of experts and policymakers, promote a healthy lifestyle in the workplace, and enhance Slovenia’s ability to respond effectively to changes in the labour market.
The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
The project, with a total value of €3 million, will receive €2,185,500.00 from the European Social Fund Plus. The beneficiary of the funding is the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Sport.
