Interregional programmes

The broadest form of cooperation is interregional cooperation, known as Interreg C. This type of cooperation works at pan-European level, covering all EU member states and partner countries.

Slovenia participates in four interregional programmes in the 2021-2027 period:

The objectives of interregional programmes are as follows:

  • boosting the effectiveness of Cohesion Policy implementation by promoting exchange of experiences between regions, programmes and countries;
  • improving the implementation of European territorial cooperation programmes and projects;
  • promoting development trends in territorial cohesion through studies, analyses, data collection and other measures.
