Public vote for Best EU Project 2025 that was held as part of the EU Project, My Project campaign closed on 8 May. Nearly 2,000 people cast their vote, showing the public’s huge interest in EU-funded projects that make a difference in our daily life.
We are happy to announce that this year’s vote ended in a tie at the top with two projects getting the same number of votes and becoming winners.
First place went to the project Cycling route Štrekna. The project received 333 votes (17%). As part of the project, the former railway line was transformed into a popular cycling route, promoting sustainable mobility and paying tribute to the rich technical heritage along the route.
The project Novo mesto – a place of urban progress also received 333 votes (17%) and took first place. With an extensive city centre regeneration and revitalisation, the project sets a perfect example of a modern, inclusive, and sustainable urban development.
The project ForDravaRiver received 319 votes (16%) and won third place. It is one of the largest nature conservation projects in the country, improving biodiversity and enhancing flood protection along the Drava River through habitat restoration.
