€6 million in EU funding to support the internationalisation of micro enterprises and SMEs

Ljubljana, 25 September 2025 – The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the call for proposals Promoting partnerships to facilitate international expansion 2025-2028.

The call for proposals will support partnerships consisting of at least three and a maximum of five micro enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These strategic alliances will allow the enterprises to jointly enter foreign markets and expand internationally. By being part of such strategic alliances, enterprises will tap into new markets more easily without shouldering the full burden of expansion alone. This will help enhance international competitiveness, allowing the partnerships to launch their products and services in foreign markets and, in turn, opening up new opportunities for collaboration of SMEs with foreign partners.

The call for proposals will be implemented as part of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Innovative knowledge-based society. It will pursue specific objective Enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs and job creation in SMEs, including by productive investments.

The call will come with a budget of €6,750,000; it will receive €6 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

SPIRIT Slovenia Business Development Agency will publish the call on 26 September 2025 in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia.
