Ljubljana, 3 July 2025 – The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Measures to promote collective bargaining and strengthen employee advocacy and representation. The European Social Fund Plus will contribute €3.2 million of EU funding to the project.

The project addresses relevant challenges in the labour market, including protecting labour rights, improving working conditions, and strengthening social dialogue. It includes the provision of training, information, advice and analysis services to strengthen collective bargaining. The project targets various groups, including employees, trade union trustees, NGOs, social partners, other labour market stakeholders, and the general public.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • setting up an information and training system to raise awareness on labour rights,
  • strengthening the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities in the field of social dialogue and collective bargaining,
  • setting up a system to investigate and remedy infringements in the field of labour rights and occupational health and safety.

The project plays a crucial role in strengthening collective bargaining, enhancing industrial relations, reducing social and economic inequalities, and preventing brain drain. It also contributes to better integration of the workforce and greater social cohesion.

The operation aligns with the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights, which emphasises the importance of equal opportunities in accessing quality and safe work.
