Ljubljana, 17 April 2025 – The Ministry of the Interior, the managing authority for EU home affairs funds, has approved the project Standard consular training.
The Ministry of the Interior cooperates with various stakeholders in the implementation of EU home affairs funds. In this context, it works closely together with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in the implementation of the Border Management and Visa Instrument.
As part of the project Standard consular training, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs holds consular and regional consultations to enable knowledge sharing, good practice exchange and strengthening of relations at both national and EU level. EU visa policy and associated issuance processes are specific in that they require specific knowledge, including a set of technical skills. Good knowledge of applications, databases and hardware is key in this respect. The employees must have a high level of knowledge of document security and technological solutions and must apply effective working methods and practices.
The project aims to improve the knowledge of employees working on visa processes to help streamline visa processes and improve operational efficiency, facilitate abuse detection and enhance travelling experience.
The €341,666.66 project will receive €256,249.99 from the Border Management and Visa Instrument.
