The project will support the establishment and operation of a regional mobility centre whose mission will be to oversee the development and management of transport at the regional level. The centre will be responsible for integrated transport management and for coordinating the implementation of regional projects. As part of its work, it will help local authorities align on the relevant transport-related matters. It will work together with the neighbouring regional mobility centres. Moreover, the centre will cooperate with the relevant national authorities to coordinate the implementation of transport policies. The beneficiary of financial contribution to the project will be the Regional Development Centre Koper.

The main objectives of the project:

  • driving change in travel behaviour of both local residents and visitors to the region;
  • fostering and providing sustainable mobility options;
  • implementing transport policy that prioritizes sustainable transport;
  • better coordinating national sectoral policies falling within the centre’s competence.

The project will be implemented in the framework of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under priority Sustainable (cross-)regional mobility and connectivity. It will be co-financed by the Cohesion Fund.

The €268,800 project will receive €228,480 from the European Union’s Cohesion Fund, national contribution equalling €40,320.
