The call aims to better integrate Roma in Slovenia within wider society and improve their socioeconomic situation. The planned multi-purpose Roma centres will provide a series of activities, including counselling, help and support to foster empowerment and personal development. Their programmes will aim to improve social, language, and communication skills of Roma. They will provide services such as guidance and support in accessing job opportunities, support for participation in education, and other forms of activation. The services will also focus on promoting a healthy and active life.
The call aims to co-finance five multiannual projects. As part of the projects, ten multi-purpose Roma centres will be set up across Slovenia. The centres will operate in municipalities with a concentrated Roma population. One multi-purpose Roma centre will be in cohesion region Zahodna Slovenija and the remaining nine in cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija.
With the call, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities seeks to strengthen social inclusion of Roma, improve their living conditions and foster cooperation and interaction between Roma and non-Roma.
The call for proposals will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on 21 February 2025.
