Ljubljana, 15. May 2026 – The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Noršinska ulica street project – phase 2. The project will receive more than €348,000 from the European Regional Development Fund.

The project includes the reconstruction of a local road and the construction of a two-way bicycle path on one side of the street along the section from the Noršinci–Rakičan intersection to the village of Rakičan, covering a total length of 0.645 kilometres. The plans also include the construction of a new cycling bridge over the Lendava river, the development of green areas, the installation of street lighting along the cycling path, and the placement of urban furniture.
The aim of the project is to improve conditions for cycling as a daily mode of transportation and to promote sustainable mobility in the Urban Municipality of Murska Sobota. The project will help reduce motorised traffic, improve traffic safety, and promote a healthy, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient mode of mobility.
The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027. The total value of the project amounts to €1,235,353.42, of which €348,402.63 will be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The beneficiary of the project is the Urban Municipality of Murska Sobota.
