Ljubljana, 24 February 2025 – The Ministry of the Interior, acting as the Managing Authority for EU funds in the field of internal affairs, has approved the project Assistance for the voluntary return of persons with international protection.
Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants has begun with the implementation of the project Assistance for the voluntary return of persons with international protection, which is co-funded with the EU Asylum Migration and Integration Fund resources.
Individuals who have applied for international protection in the Republic of Slovenia, include people who, for various reasons, may decide to return to their home country. Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants assists them in finding a safe form of repatriation. The project continues the activities which were carried out by the Slovenian Police until the amendment of the International Protection Act. Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants estimates that the project will lead to the safe return of approximately thirty applicants for international protection to their country of origin.
The project, worth 68,600.00 euros, is co-financed by the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund in the amount of 61,740.00 euros.
