European Commission representative Gašper Kavšek visits secondary schools as part of the At the School of Open Cohesion project

European Commission representative Gašper Kavšek visited secondary schools participating in the At the School of Open Cohesion project. He presented to the students the work of the European Commission and the role of the main institutions of the European Union through interactive workshops.

The visit aimed to improve the understanding of the European institutions and their impact on citizens’ daily lives. The students had the opportunity to learn more about European funding, which contributes to the development of many projects in Slovenia with a specific emphasis on Cohesion Policy, which plays a key role in financing various programmes in the country.

Kavšak also presented the opportunities that the European Union offers to young people, such as the Erasmus+ programme, study and work abroad opportunities and various European initiatives. The students actively participated in the discussions, asked questions on current European issues and expressed their interest in the future of the EU.

The project At the School of Open Cohesion gives young people an insight into how European funds work and highlights the importance of European integration. The visit of a European Commission representative thus helped raise students’ awareness of European policies and their impact on life in Slovenia.

The schools participating in the project aim to strengthen European identity among young people and encourage them to become active citizens. The students agreed that the experience was valuable and informative, as they gained new knowledge about the European Union and the opportunities it offers to young people.
