EU funding for security of young people in the labour market

Ljubljana, 10 November 2023 – The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the call for proposals Fighting youth precarity with youth work.

The aim of the call for proposals is to support the implementation of a training programme for youth workers in the field of precarious work and ensure the provision of relevant information about precarity among young people to young people, organisations in the youth sector, and general public. The call for proposals will also support the implementation of pilot projects at the local level in both cohesion regions. Youth work will be carried out to help raise awareness of young people of the issue of precarious work and of the importance of labour and social rights while providing young people with advice and support. These activities will establish a national support environment in the youth sector that will be available to young people aged between 15 and 29, and to youth workers. This will help enhance the security of young people, who are considered vulnerable group in the labour market, by empowering them and keeping them fully informed about youth precarity and about labour and social rights.

The call for proposals will be published by the Ministry of Education in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on 10 November 2023.

The call for proposals makes a total of 5,187,968 euros available. The project is supported by the European Union, with a contribution from the European Social Fund plus amounting to over 3.3 million euros.
