Open Day at the Zasavje Care and Work Centre

In 2024, the Zasavje Care and Work Centre is celebrating its 40th anniversary. From its humble beginnings with two employees and twenty users, the centre has grown into an organisation with 151 users, 34 of whom are in institutional care, and 58 employees. Currently, there are two day units and four residential units, which provide comprehensive support and quality care for people with different needs.

Over the past years, the centre has been actively involved in EU-supported projects, first as a partner and later as a project promoter. The centre has successfully implemented several projects to integrate vulnerable groups into society, thus making an important contribution to better integration and support for users.

On the occasion of this year’s anniversary, the Zasavje Care and Work Centre applied for the EU Project My Project competition and achieved remarkable success, being among the top 20 projects. They organised an Open Day to thank all their supporters and present their work. The event was attended by more than 100 visitors, including relatives of users, representatives of various organisations, co-operators, schools with adapted education programmes and individuals who wanted to learn more about the centre’s work.

The Open Day event offered numerous activities for visitors to participate in or watch, such as art workshops “Art Brut for Inclusion”, music and dance workshops and a collaboration with the librarian. Visitors also had a tour of the centre’s premises and attended a get-together in the VIP courtyard with music, coffee and roasted chestnuts.

The centre is proud of its achievements and remains committed to creating an inclusive environment for all its users.
