Public call for proposals “Competitive and more energy efficient fleet” launched

Ljubljana, 28 February 2025 – Today, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food announced the launch of the first call for proposals “Competitive and more energy-efficient fleet” published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia. The first call for proposals aims to support the implementation of operations involving investments in on-board equipment, on-board investments to improve navigation and engine control, investments in fishing gear containing Polyamide 6, investments in safety equipment, investments to improve working conditions, and investments to improve the selectivity of fishing gear with regard to the size and type of catch for fishermen, in the form of investments in fishing vessels or equipment for individuals if such investments exceed the requirements set by EU or national regulations.

The call for proposals makes 320,000 available as a grant, with 224,000 euros coming from the European Union and 96,000 euros from national funds.

Eligible applicants under the call for proposals are legal entities, sole proprietors and fishermen – natural persons who are owners, co-owners or users of fishing vessels with a valid commercial fishing licence issued in the Republic of Slovenia, in accordance with the law governing sea fisheries.

Applications can be submitted electronically starting on the first working day after 21st day following the publication of the call for proposals in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia. The call for proposals will remain open until the funds are used or the closure of the call for proposals is announced on the official government website.
