PONI LUR project participants present their work at the entrepreneurship bazaar
On 11 September 2024, the Prešernov trg Square in Ljubljana was transformed into a real entrepreneurship bazaar, where more than twenty successful entrepreneurs and their products and services, developed as part of the PONI LUR project – ENTREPRENEURIAL APPROACH TO ADDRESSING CHALLENGES IN THE LJUBLJANA URBAN REGION, presented their work.
The event took place as part of the national campaign Best EU Project of the Year 2024, where PONI LUR was selected as one of the TOP 20 projects for 2024. At the same time, in cooperation with the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development, a round table was held in the City Hall as part of the EU Funds Travelling Office in Ljubljana, which was dedicated to presenting opportunities of EU co-financing.
The official opening of the bazaar and the round table was attended by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development, mag. Marko Koprivc, who expressed his satisfaction with the presented results and underlined that the PONI LUR project is more than just an entrepreneurial training programme. It proves that with the proper knowledge, support and perseverance, even small ideas can grow into successful entrepreneurial stories.
At the opening ceremony, the Director of the Regional Development Agency LUR mag. Lilijana Madjar emphasised that promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture, as well as an environment that enables new career opportunities, is one of the development priorities of the city of Ljubljana and the entire region. The PONI LUR project directly supports individuals and has proven highly successful in this area. At the round table, she presented the Ljubljana Urban Region, the challenges the region faces, and the topics and projects that the Agency is still implementing in regional development. In addition to entrepreneurship, much attention is placed on sustainable mobility, spatial planning, the circular economy, rural development and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.
The following products were presented: facial care cosmetics NANU, illustrations by JollieBluebear and Manca Illustration, luxury crochet handbags Korčeta, clothing and jewellery line Lublanska, tetra blankets Dotica, Tank drums made from recycled cylinders, mobile tables LapOffice, playing cards GoSlo, Temporary Tattoos, online platform Kulinarik.si and Prios.si, and numerous sports and other activities, from Hobbyhorsing to handball, martial arts, boutique events, crocheting and artistic expression.
In the Plečnik newsagent shop, which has been given free of charge by the Municipality of Ljubljana to promote entrepreneurship, POP-UP PONI LUR has been established, which is an exhibition and sales space for innovative Slovenian entrepreneurial ideas, where every 14 days, two of the successfully realised ideas are presented. You are invited to visit the shop and support young people by purchasing something.
