The Smart Specialisation Coordination Division of the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development is launching a public procurement procedure for the semantic analysis of RDI achievements under Slovenia’s Sustainable Smart Specialisation Strategy (S5) priority areas. This will be done with artificial intelligence tools using thematic modelling or other equivalent methods using selected publicly available databases.
The aim of this exercise, called the Digital EDP (Entrepreneurial Discovery Process), is to obtain further expert assessments and recommendations on the future targeting of public funds towards the most propulsive S5 priority areas, for the implementation of the STEP Regulation and the concentration of investments in the context of regional development. Digital EDP will also contribute to the screening of actors in Slovenian regions that are most effective in centralised European RRI calls. The Digital EDP thus challenges the relevance of the current prioritisation.
