Ljubljana, 19 December 2025 – The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has issued a funding decision for the call for proposals Incentives for projects included in Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) Hydrogen. Published today, this strategic call for proposals will receive support from the European Regional Development Fund.

The call for proposals aims to unlock investments in the development of the European hydrogen value chain, including building hydrogen production capacities and hydrogen transport infrastructure and supporting the use of hydrogen in industry and transport. With this step, Slovenia makes a direct contribution to the decarbonisation of the economy and the achievement of the European Green Deal goals. The projects are part of IPCEI Hydrogen waves, more specifically Hy2Tech and Hy2Use.
The investment will support the development of advanced technologies such as large-scale electrolysers and energy storage solutions, which will help reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels. This means a cleaner environment with fewer harmful gas emissions for the citizens and long-term energy independence for the country.
The call will come with a budget of €20 million and will receive €18 million from the European Regional Development Fund.
The Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport will publish the call in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia on 19 December 2025.
