The project covers the revitalisation of degraded and underutilised areas within the town and their conversion into a modern sports and recreation centre. Publicly accessible spaces for sports, recreation, and socialising will be established, designed to be inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities. The project will also support the development of sports activities, including cycling, and ensure safe conditions for exercise.

The project aims to improve the quality and accessibility of sports and recreation infrastructure and contribute to the development of green infrastructure in an urban environment. The project will support the creation of new public green spaces and contribute to better connectivity of natural structures and the strengthening of ecosystem services. As part of the project, 1.8 hectares of new green spaces will be developed.

The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

The total value of the project is €2,528,294.69, of which the European Regional Development Fund will contribute €1,252,819.95. The beneficiary is the Municipality of Krško.
