The project aims to support a sustained transition from institutional to community-based care. Its goal is to ensure that the individuals placed in institutions will be able to live more independently and to be included in the community. The Centre for managing deinstitutionalisation will provide expert support and oversee the entire process. Thus, it will bring together various organisations, such as institutes, NGOs, social work centres, municipalities, and educational institutions.
At the national level, the centre will help the Ministry of Solidarity-Based Future by coordinating the work in various areas. At the same time, it will provide support, advice and education to key stakeholders at the local level. These include service users and their relatives, staff in institutes and community-based service providers.
The project will also result in the development of new knowledge. Thus, it will aim to raise awareness among the general public about the importance of deinstitutionalisation, which implies the shift from care in institutional settings to community-based alternatives.
The project is worth a total of 3,176,033.71 euros and will receive 2,438.763.27 euros from the European Social Fund Plus.
