The project will focus on enhancing green spaces in the Medlog urban hinterland by creating areas for recreation, social interaction, education, and gardening. It will include the renovation of the existing tree park and the development of urban gardens and nature‑friendly playgrounds. All green infrastructure will be publicly accessible and designed according to nature‑based solutions, supporting diverse, low‑impact uses of the space.
The project aims to enhance both the accessibility and quality of green urban areas while promoting sustainable approaches to urban management. It will create approximately 2.35 hectares of new green space, offering residents inviting places to exercise, socialize, or simply spend time outdoors in nature. These spaces will be designed to strengthen community ties and encourage intergenerational interaction.
The €818,311.08 project will be implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and will receive €578,284 from the European Regional Development Fund.
The beneficiary of the funds will be the Urban Municipality of Celje.
