Ljubljana, 9 October 2025 – The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Redevelopment of Museum Square in Koper.
As part of this EU-funded project, the Urban Municipality of Koper will renovate Museum Square in Koper. The redevelopment project will include new paving, tree plantings, street lighting and new urban furniture that will add aesthetic value to the urban space. Once renovated, the square will turn into a quality, open and modern public space. It will feature amenities that will make it comfortable, safe and easy for people to use.
The project will be implemented as part of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Sustainable development of local areas. It will pursue specific objective Fostering the integrated and inclusive social, economic and environmental development, culture, natural heritage, sustainable tourism, and security in urban areas.
The €1,387,101.69 project will receive €506,492.83 from the European Regional Development Fund.
