EU funding to support innovative and sustainable business models in the wood industry

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for a call for proposals aimed at promoting the development and deployment of new business models and processes based on the principles of circular economy and digitalisation. Over €13.3 million will be allocated from the European Regional Development Fund to support the implementation of the call.

The call for proposals aims to support wood processing companies in introducing modern, sustainable and digital ways of doing business. EU funding will help them develop strategies for the transition to a circular economy and invest in new technologies, equipment and solutions that enhance resource efficiency while reducing environmental impacts.

The call will support the development of more competitive, productive and environmentally friendly wood processing companies, contributing to Slovenia’s decarbonisation efforts and supporting the transition to a circular economy. Funding will be available for both the design and implementation of sustainable and digital transformation projects in wood processing companies.

The call for proposals will be published by the Ministry of the Economy, Labour and Sports on its dedicated website. It will be open to wood processing companies.

The €15,720,000 project will receive €13,350,000 from the European Regional Development Fund
