The objectives of the investment are to prevent poorer patient outcomes associated with the shortage of inpatient beds for extended hospital stay or the nursing ward and thus prevent an increased demand for long-term care, to consolidate the divided workplaces of the medical staff and to improve the working conditions of the latter, which are worsened by the divided units of the nursing ward.
The investment will result in the significantly increased bed capacity of the Murska Sobota General Hospital for admission of patients for extended hospital treatment and non-acute care, better conditions and increased chances for their successful treatment, as well as the establishment of appropriate conditions for palliative care, while ensuring the health and safety conditions of the staff, all of which are not possible without this investment. The investment is of great importance for North-Eastern Slovenia. The number of patients in need of nursing care is increasing yearly, and the increase in the number of nursing beds made possible by the investment would meet future needs.
