E-School Bag 2023

The project e-School Bag is based on three pillars of the school for the 21st century:
– establishing an e-learning environment,
– developing relevant e-content,
– educating e-competent teachers.
To enhance the use of innovative approaches and take advantage of the opportunities offered by modern technology in the educational process, the project’s objective was to improve the knowledge, skills, and competences of young people and the qualifications of teachers in the field of educational e-services and e-content.
As part of the project, technical and content upgrades were provided for the e-content portal (e-School Bag) and its associated authoring tool for creating e-content (e-Editor).
The project also establishes a single national platform for e-textbooks and other teaching materials (etorba.sio.si), offering free, professionally reviewed e-material, including 40 new and upgraded interactive textbooks.
The platform also includes an e-reader that enables students to be more active when learning with electronic teaching materials: underlining, highlighting, adding notes, and explaining words with a direct link to the Fran or Franček portal. It also allows the display to be adjusted for easier reading.

The platform is a sustainable solution for all users, as all relevant teaching materials are available in one place and can be accessed with a single user account.

Benefits:
– Pupils and students can find textbooks and other materials on the portal that take into account the characteristics of online learning.
– Teachers can use the portal to create their own multimedia materials that they need for teaching.
– Publishers will be able to add their e-materials to the portal.

Additional projects will focus on the maintenance, upgrade and modernisation of the portal e-School Bag, e-Editor and e-Reader.
According to the Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027, digital education is the use of digital technology in meaningful, safe, and interactive ways across physical and virtual learning environments to improve the knowledge and skills of everyone involved in education. The presented project pursues this goal in the field of electronic learning resources.
