With the renovation of the Skate Park, the skateboarding training ground, young people can better and safer participate in sports activities. Encouraging the participation of young people in urban sports contributes to a more active role of young people, both in terms of individual leisure time and the creation of a more active life goal. The inclusion of skating in the family of Olympic sports offers the possibility for the development of a top sport and the organisation of international sports events.
The principles of sustainable design were used in the transformation of the existing area. An area has been created that is available to skateboarders performing elements of different levels of difficulty, as well as holding competitions at the national and international levels.
The renovated skate park consists of the following facilities:
- a skating rink with lighting poles,
- social space: within the building, there is also a sanitary node with a connection to the communal infrastructure: water and sewerage.
- other infrastructure for visitors.
The project also includes external arrangements:
- connecting other footpaths with public lighting,
- reflector lighting of the skating rink,
- arrangement and greening of the terrain.
As part of the investment, the surroundings of the building were renovated with a total size of approx. 9,950.00 m2.
