A walk along the paths of the winning project Revitalisation of Lent
Urban Municipality of Maribor organised a walking tour visiting the winning projects of the Best EU project of the Year 2024 competition.
On 10 October 2024, citizens could join the walk along the project paths. They were guided through a unique walk by mag. Barbara Mikuš Marzidovšek, Head of the Development Projects and Investments Office – Project Office at the Urban Municipality of Maribor.
The walk started at the assembly point, on the right bank of the Drava River by the Splavarska brv footbridge where the 1st phase of the Drava Cycle Track project was presented. The walk continued over the Splavarska brv footbridge. The presentation was followed by a walk across Lent to the Sodni stolp tower. From there, the tour continued past the 3 Babe building to the Vojašniški trg square. The tour finished with a presentation of the Museum of the Oldest Vine.
The municipality started with the revitalisation of Lent in 2019. As part of a substantial investment cycle in the area, the municipality was successful in drawing on over ten million euros in EU funding and over two million of national funding by adding just over 11 million of its funding.
